This weekend I was very busy. In truth, I'm so exhausted that it doesn't even feel like it was a weekend! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I went to Megacon with my friends. If you don't know what that is, it's a comic book convention that happens annually in Orlando. It is the fourth largest comic book convention in the country! They bring in a bunch of actors and artists, vendors and cosplayers, and everyone has a fantastic time being as nerdy as they want!
Last year, I went for James Marsters and Eliza Dushku from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, my absolute and number one favorite TV show. I'd count that weekend as among the best weekends in my life. This year, they brought Summer Glau, Alan Tudyk, and Adam Baldwin from Firefly; Tony Curran, Karen Gillan, and Alex Kingston from Doctor Who; and tons of other guests from the Walking Dead, Arrow, The Flash, and other popular movies/shows.
Friday I went to just browse around the vendor area, where they sell all things pop culture related! I also got some pictures of amazing cosplayers!

Saturday was Doctor Who day. My friend Allie and I cosplayed as Cosima and Helena from Orphan Black, attended the Doctor Who panel, got our picture with Karen Gillan and Alex Kingston, and got their signatures! We had some people stop us to take pictures. I really loved the attention, and I felt so cool!

Sunday was Firefly day! We went to the Firefly panel, where Alan Tudyk gave out random bits of memorabilia to everyone who asked a question (SO JEALOUS). They were all so funny! It was the best panel I've been to. Then, we took pictures with all three and got their signatures. I got some great advice from Alan Tudyk about comedy writing, and got a silly picture!

Overall, the weekend was incredible. There were so many great cosplayers that my phone ran out of memory! I did spend A LOT of money, but seeing as it's my yearly splurge weekend, it was totally worth it. I can't wait until I live in Los Angeles and can go to San Diego Comic Con. One day, I hope I will be invited as a guest!!!!
